Nano Microblading Healing Process & Aftercare 101
The most common question and the one thing that has the highest confusion surrounding it is the proper post care for a new PMU treatment. As there are many different techniques for post care (wet vs. dry healing, explicit day-by-day healing steps, etc.) I figured I would hop on here and explain the differences in techniques and what to do to ensure the best results possible.
Not only is aftercare important for results but also it is also crucial when it comes to preventing bacteria invasion and added stress to the treatment site.
HOW-TO: PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEW EYEBROWS
Day of:
After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue or cotton round to absorb excess lymph fluids
Removing this “weeping” helps to prevent hardening of lymphatic fluids
Days Two – Fourteen (WASH)
Starting today you will wash your eyebrows every day twice a day (AM & PM)
Gently wash the area each morning and night with a gentle soap (must be antibacterial, unscented, with NO active ingredients). Soaps include: Dial, Cetaphil, baby shampoo
Form suds in your fingertips then gently, in circular motions, use the suds to wash your brows for a minimum of 10 seconds
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to ensure all the soap has rinsed away
Gently pat with clean tissue or soft clean towel
DO NOT USE ANY CLEANSING PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN ACIDS OR RETINOLS (glycolic, lactic, salicylic, AHA, retin-A, etc.) If you have any questions about your products, consult with your artist
Days Two – Fourteen (MOISTURIZE)
Following washing and using a Q-Tip, apply a pea-sized amount of post-care ointment on to the eyebrows
Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin
NEVER put the product on a wet or damp tattoo

Do not use makeup/sunscreen in the brow area for the first 10-14 days
When showering, it’s important to understand that steam has an important part in the healing process. When showering:
1. Limit your shower to 5 minutes to avoid steam
2. DO NOT let the hot/warm water fall stream on to your face – instead wash your face in the sink either before or after your shower using lukewarm water and gently wash the eyebrows following
The Different Healing Techniques: Wet Vs. Dry Healing
· Wet Healing Method: applying a product prior to wash
· Dry Healing Method: not applying a product prior to wash
Which is the better healing method??
As you can see from the above aforementioned instructions, Balance By Brittany uses a wet healing method. The reason we recommend using a healing ointment following your daily washes is that it helps bring moisture back to the treated area.
Applying an antibacterial/antimicrobial ointment helps heal the treated areas at a faster pace. Not only will it heal more quickly, but having an after-care ointment helps to soothe the treated area as well as relieves any itchy sensation.
